Scoob! A funny story about Friendship

Scoob! is one of the few new movies we got this year. Originally planned for release on May 15th in cinemas, Scoob! was instead released  via video on demand on the same date.

Scooby Doo has been around for a lot of years. For most of us reading this Scooby Doo was apart of our parents childhood, our own childhood and possibly even your own children’s childhood. It is a fun animated experience which has survived through time in many shapes and forms. The latest entry into the franchise, Scoob! does not fall short.

The first 10 minutes is dedicated to how Scooby and Shaggy meet as children, how they meet the “gang” and solve their first case. The story picks up about 10 years later as a mysterious villain is after Scooby Doo due to his connection to ancient greek lineage (I’ll let you watch the movie and figure out the details). The movie also involves superhero characters from within the Scooby Doo universe that have been idolized by Scooby and Shaggy. A majority of the movie revolves around Shaggy and Scooby as they end up with the Superheros on their quest. Scoob! is truly a tribute not to the Scooby Doo franchise but a tribute to the friendship between Scooby and Shaggy, possibly the most beloved duo in animation history.

Scoob! is a fun family ride with all the usual running, unmasking, eating, eating and also eating. Something that has made the duo famous over the years. Scoob! also features a good amount of adult humor such as the name of the villain among others which are too subtle for your child but will surely have you laughing. Scoob! has something for everyone, for adults it truly brings the nostalgic moments. The first 10 minutes when Scooby and Shaggy meet hit me hard as it took me back to my childhood years of watching Scooby Doo.

Of course one can say that Scoob! is no cinematic history making animation but I dont actually care about that. Scoob! can be a 7.5 on the scale of 10 but all the fun I had with nostalgia abound Scoob! it is easily an

8.5/10
